Space Station Al-Mega

Late in 2000, our "Sunday's Cool" (5-11 year-old children) underwent a radical transformation;

Since then, the strains of "Sprach Zarathustra" (theme for Kubric's 2001, a space odyssey) during sunday morning church services have heralded the departure of the shuttle for the "Space Station Al-Mega" - and our church promptly and noisily empties of children rushing to board the "shuttle"

The shuttle (an escorted convoy, crossing our church carpark) takes the kids to the "space station", set up with considerable imagination in our church hall.

As the 'shuttle pilots' return to church, the group (often up to 80 children) meet together initially, before splitting up into 5 or 6 groups according to age.

After church, parents retrieve the children, (and are regaled with the tales of various activities), while the "decom squad" restore the hall to its normal state, ready for the week's activities.

See you there!
